Kai

Kai is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to wheelchair basketball, but this hasn’t been without a tough challenge.  Kai was born with Cerebral Palsy and has had limited mobility all his life.  Despite an operation at the age of 7 to help him walk, Kai is a full time wheelchair user.   When he discovered Aberystwyth Wheelchair Basketball he found a new passion and determination, as well new friends and his identity – his head coach says he was a natural.  He has since made the Commonwealth Games qualifiers and carried the baton in the relay.  Next stop – the Rickshaw Relay Challenge!

Aberystwyth Wheelchair Basketball

This project runs inclusive wheelchair basketball sessions for disabled and non-disabled after school and evenings which improve the emotional, physical health and social skills of these young players.
