Pudsey and the Thread of Hope is based on the original story by Tom Fletcher – and follows Jai as he embarks on a journey of healing, hope and adventure with Pudsey. Along the way, they meet other children connected by a golden thread of kindness and empowerment.

Meet the cast!
The characters in Pudsey and the Thread of Hope are voiced by Ashley Banjo, Jessica Gunning, Shini Muthukrishnan and Nikesh Patel. Jessica voices the role of Jai’s mum and Nikesh voices the role of Jai’s dad, whilst Ashley voices the role of a boxing coach and Shini the role of a dance teacher.
Ashley Banjo
“I play Trevor, a boxing coach, who is cheerful, friendly and kind. He welcomes Jai and Pudsey into the gym where he’s training an aspiring boxer, Tomash. Trevor and Tomash encourage Jai to embrace his emotions and find ways to express them because bottling things up never helps. It’s about having positive, trusted relationships when you need that support.”
Jessica Gunning
“It’s such a heart-warming story and a lovely, interesting portrayal of grief and loss and two people who are just trying to carry on without their person. Jai has lost his dad and Lisa has lost her husband, so I found it moving imagining someone struggling with the loss of a partner whilst also having to be strong and brave and parent a son who is also grieving as well.”

“To be part of something that is for such a good cause was too good to pass up. Having recently become a father myself, it felt extra-special to take part in this.
It’s such an important and universal message. We all need hope, and I think an animated story is such a powerful way to convey that message.”
