A Million and Me
Welcome to A Million & Me – BBC Children in Need’s £10 million programme which focuses on supporting children’s mental health. A Million & Me aims to make a positive difference to the lives of children aged 8-13 who are beginning to struggle with their mental health and emotional wellbeing.
Our funding
We have dedicated £10m of funding to this programme over three years, to support innovative initiatives that can make a real difference to the emotional wellbeing of children aged 8-13, before emerging challenges require clinical intervention. Working in partnership with funded projects, we will provide information and support to children how, when and where they want it, in a form that is easily accessible and feels most comfortable to them. A Million & Me also aims to engage families, peer groups and communities in order to create a positive support system around children.
Information for potential applicants
A Million & Me differs from most BBC Children in Need grants programmes in that it is not an open call for applications – instead, organisations are invited to share ideas to work up together into proposals for funding. If you are part of an organisation working to support positive mental health in children aged 8-13, and would like to know more about the programme, please contact us at [email protected]
Our partner Boots UK
In addition to the grants being awarded throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, BBC Children in Need’s Principal Partner, Boots UK, will play an important role in the programme by providing information and support to customers in their stores throughout the UK. With access to resources created by YoungMinds especially for Boots as part of A Million & Me, Boots colleagues will help parents and carers to have positive proactive conversations with children about mental wellbeing, with the aim of having a direct impact on the health and wellbeing of families in their communities.
