Supporting young carers facing anxiety
Even before the pandemic came along, 13-year-old Megs had a lot to think about.
She was born with hyrdrocephalus, congenital heart disease, hypermobility and a partial cleft palate, and has also been a young carer for her younger brother, Cody, who has epilepsy, autism and learning difficulties.
The added uncertainty of the past two years meant that Megs began to find things really tough, and she started to feel anxious.
Thankfully though, your donations meant she could access support from YMCA Swansea.
With help from online and one-to-one sessions, Megs was able to take time out for fun activities with other young carers facing the same situation.
These sessions, funded with help from BBC Children in Need continue to provide crucial support for many young carers like Megs who are struggling with their wellbeing or mental health.
