Positive Relationships Daffodils
If you’re on the lookout for simple arts and crafts for kids that are amazingly fun, this is the activity for you! By working together to make these beautiful daffodils, you’ll be taking time to build your bond with the young people in your life.
What you’ll need
- Green and yellow card
- Green lollipop sticks – one for each flower you plan to make. Alternatively, paint plain sticks green!
- Non-toxic gold and yellow paint (and green if you can only find plain lollipop sticks)
- Gold glitter
- Newspaper or a plastic sheet/tablecloth
- Scissors
- Glue
How to do it:
- Choose the number of lollipop sticks you’ll need – one for every flower you’ll be making.
- This step is for adults only: cut your yellow card into circles. You’ll need one circle per flower. We suggest drawing out the circles first to get the shape you want!
- Drizzle a little of the gold and yellow paint onto each yellow circle.
- Use your fingers to smudge the paint around on your circle. Sprinkle on some glitter before it dries!
- When you’re happy with your artwork, lay it on your newspaper or plastic sheet to dry.
- Another adults-only step: once it’s dry, cut each yellow circle into the shape of a flower. We suggest creating the shape of daffodil petals. It’s a good idea to draw the shape you want before cutting.
- Draw a leaf shape onto green card – one for each flower.
- Another adults-only step: cut out the leaf shapes.
- Now assemble your daffodils! Stick a leaf to one side of each stem, then glue the flower head to the top and leave it all to dry. Your daffodil is done!
- For a fun little touch, why not write fun or heartfelt messages on the leaves?
