Introducing the 2022 BBC Children in Need T-shirt
This year, we handed over creativity to illustrator and author, Liz Pichon!
To inspire her design, Liz visited a project in the South East of England, Crawley Community Youth Service, where she met children supported by BBC Children in Need. The children were taken through a creative workshop where they had the opportunity to learn how to draw and doodle from Liz herself.
Crawley Community Youth Services provides a range of after-school and holiday sessions, for ages 8-18 usually. The project offer children the chance to get involved with activities including sports, arts, music and cooking, with an aim to improve their aspirations and confidence. This t-shirt is part of the Easy on, Easy Wear range, meaning the children’s t-shirt has a printed care label to avoid irritating woven labels, and soft threads that are kind to skin.
This makes the t-shirt easier and more comfortable to wear, which is extremely important for children with specific or sensory-sensitive needs such as autism.
