Congratulations to the BBC radio teams who have completed the Thousand Mile Challenge for BBC Children in Need.
Each team across the United Kingdom and Channel Islands did their bit to reach the one thousand miles – three-legged!
It was all to raise money for BBC Children in Need. It’s not too late to donate if you haven’t already!
Inspired by The Thousand Mile Challenge, Lindsey Burrow and BBC Look North’s Amy Garcia are now taking on their own three-legged challenge. They’ll tie their legs together to walk across three Yorkshire counties to raise money for BBC Children in Need.
The Thousand Mile Challenge Extra Leg is taking place on the 13th and 14th November, with Amy and Lindsey visiting locations across West, South, and North Yorkshire, including Castleford, Selby, Barnsley, Wakefield, and Huddersfield.
Lindsey’s husband, Rugby League legend Rob Burrow, died in 2024 four years after being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.
Lindsey said: “Rob believed in the power of community and kindness. This challenge is a way to carry that spirit forward and support children who need it most. I’ve run a number of marathons for charity, but this is my first challenge for BBC Children in Need and will be a unique test.”
