WOW – Women of The World Festival

On International Women’s Day 2022 we’re shining a light on how your donations have helped to connect girls from communities across the UK, empowering them to explore topics like activism and gender equality in fun and accessible ways.

Last year, WOW – Women of the World Festival was awarded a grant of £88,800 to support the delivery of a ten month project designed to engage girls and non-binary young people from communities across the UK who have benefited from BBC Children in Need funded projects addressing local disadvantage.

This included monthly online discussions around the issues that matter most to them regarding gender equality and resulted in the creation of artwork, audio and video content and written word that formed the world’s first ever Lending Library curated with, by and for girls.
