An update on…
With the challenges of Covid-19 affecting children and young people right across the UK, we’ve been checking in with some of the children who you’ve met before, to see how they have been getting on throughout lockdown and as safety measures begin to lift.
A catch up with Mouna
We first met thirteen-year-old Mouna back in 2018, when she told us about the fun days out she had at Deaf-SELF’s playscheme. Now Mouna tells us how she’s been attending an online youth club for Deaf children and young people.
Revisiting Maisy
In 2019, Maisy bravely shared her story. She was supported by Read for Good whilst undergoing treatment for a Wilms Tumour (kidney cancer). Like many people, throughout lockdown Maisy has been staying at home, we caught up with her and her family to find out how they’ve been getting on.
An update on Archie
In 2018, Archie was facing years of daily chemotherapy for leukaemia. Because of his medical treatment he couldn’t leave home or see his friends, which was really tough. But Archie was helped by Alex from Claire House Children’s Hospice who is part of the play-at-home team for seriously ill children. Over time Archie recovered and eventually his life got back to normal. But then in March this year things changed when Archie had to start shielding during the Covid-19 pandemic. We spoke to Archie to find out what it’s been like as a young person shielding during lockdown.
