More ideas to help share feelings

Here are some more ideas you can try with your child if they are struggling to share their feelings.

Is it big or is it small?

Some feelings are small and disappear all by themselves, after a while. Other feelings can seem so big and heavy that we need some help to send them on their way.

Is this feeling as small as a mouse or as big as an elephant that won’t seem to budge? If it’s a big elephant that won’t go away, you might need a grown up to help you with it.

Who’s in your dream team?

Think of your own personal grown ups dream team – your favourite grown ups that you like to talk to the most. Some ideas might be Mum, Dad, Grandparents, teachers, teacher assistants, childminders or a social worker if you have one. These are the people you can talk to when you want to share your feelings or get some help in knowing what to do with those feelings. Who is in your grown ups dream team?
