How schools can take part

Follow these simple steps below for your school to take part in The Royally Big Portrait and be part of history! Portrait submissions close on Friday 28th April
Step 1
Download our Royally Big Portrait resource pack
This pack includes everything you need for your pupils to get creative and be part of history:
Worksheet for pupils to use to draw their portrait
Interactive art lesson video teaching children how to draw their portrait
Letter to parents explaining the Royally Big Portrait and how to upload their child’s drawing
Step 2
Watch The Royally Big Portrait interactive art lesson
Artist Sam Barnett teaches children how to easily and quickly draw a portrait of King Charles III. Use our video in your lesson and ask your pupils to follow along.
Step 3
Ask parents to upload submissions
Download the ‘Letter to parents’ and send it by email, add it to your newsletter or print it out for parents to read.
Ask the children to take their portrait home to parents, for them to upload.
Once the final artwork is ready, the artist Sam Barnett will email parents a special digital link so they can access The Royally Big Portrait and see their child’s drawing within the piece.
Top tip: Try and ensure the pictures are kept as flat and not creased as possible!
Please note uploads can be .jpg or .png files only
