The Rickshaw Challenge returned for 2020 as Matt Baker and a team of six young people took on the challenge for the 10th year.
The original plan this year was to ride the equivalent of Matt’s first solo Rickshaw ride in 2011, from Edinburgh to London – 332 miles in a straight line – within the iconic grounds of ‘Glorious’ Goodwood, however following the start of the challenge on Monday 9th, it was unfortunately decided that to ensure their safety the riders should be sent home. You can read all about why that decision was made here.
However, Team Rickshaw don’t give up that easily- we sent exercise bikes to their houses where they continued the challenge virtually- riding an unbelieve 830 miles virtually whilst staying in touch over video chat and in the end raising over £4 million!
