Please do not attempt to enter as your entry will not count but you will still be charged.

The prize

We’re offering one lucky winner their very own VIP tour of the Doctor Who set in Cardiff – just as soon as it’s safe to do so. In the meantime, the winner will also get a Personal Video Call from Doctor Who stars Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill and receive a host of exclusive Doctor Who merchandise – some of which is signed by the cast.

Full terms and conditions and privacy notice

For information on how we use your personal data please see the Privacy Notice below .

1. The prize draw will be open at 12pm on 8th November 2020 and close at 2pm on 23rd November 2020.

2. Entry to the prize draw is by texting the keyword DOCTOR to short code 81155. Text messages cost your standard network message charge (based on your service provider rates – please check with your provider). Entrants will then receive a free bounce-back message from 62345 informing them that a voluntary donation of £10 to BBC Children in Need will be taken 60 minutes after the entry text was received, unless they reply to 62345 with the word CANCEL before 60 minutes has passed.

3. For the avoidance of doubt, opting out of the voluntary donation will not affect your entry into the prize draw.

4. The prize draw is open to all residents of the UK (please note the text service to enter the prize draw does not include Channel Islands or Isle of Man mobile networks). The prize draw is open to those aged 18 or over, except staff members of BBC Children in Need, of BBC Group, of any of the prize providers, and their close relatives, or anyone connected with the prize draw. Any children wishing to win this prize must ask an adult over 18 to enter the prize draw for them instead. Proof of age, identity and eligibility may be requested.

5. Please ensure you spell the Keyword correctly and send your text message to the correct short code within the time period that the prize draw is specified as being open. If your short code is invalid, or your text message is received outside the specified time period you will not receive a bounce-back message but may still be charged your standard network message charge. You will not be donating to BBC Children in Need nor will you have entered the prize draw.

6. You may enter the prize draw a maximum of four times a day. You will receive a free bounce-back message regarding the donation each time, and if you wish to opt out of the donation you need to respond to each such message received from 62345 with the word CANCEL. If you try to enter more times than this from the same mobile telephone number in one day, you will still be charged your standard network rate, but will not be entered into the prize draw and will not be donating to BBC Children in Need.

7. If you are a UK taxpayer, we can claim an additional 25p in Gift Aid from the Government for every £1 you donate. And it doesn’t cost you a penny! To help us claim this, we may send you a follow up text to ask if you want to Gift Aid your donation. For us to claim Gift Aid, you must pay UK income or capital gains tax in the current tax year (this does not include VAT or council tax) at least equal to the amount reclaimed on all your charitable donations and understand that, if you pay less income tax or capital gains tax in the current tax year than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your charity donations, it is your responsibility to pay any difference. Find out more about Gift Aid. If you click the link in the text message you will be taken to a site to complete the Gift Aid declaration and have the option to sign up to keep up to date about children we support and fundraising news. Please read the details carefully before submission. You will not automatically be added to any marketing databases if we send you this follow up text.”

8. If by mistake you text us with the word “GIFT” or “GIFT AID” rather than following the above process, we may send you a message to notify you of the error and redirecting you to the above process again. You will not automatically be added to any marketing databases if we send you this text.

9. There is only ONE prize available to be won. The timing of each element of the prize will depend on the wider UK situation and any restrictions in place regarding Covid-19 in the coming months:

– Winner and up to three guests receive an exclusive visit to the Doctor Who set in Cardiff. Guests must be aged 8 or over and any children must be accompanied by an adult. Please note the tour will take place when filming is over so no cast will be present. – Dates of the tour to be confirmed once the restrictions on activity in the UK allow for the BBC Studios to offer a set tour. The winner will be offered one of a choice of dates. If government guidelines mean a set tour is not possible within 12 months, BBC Children in Need and BBC Studios reserve the right to offer an alternative prize to the winner.
– Travel to Cardiff is included. Overnight accommodation is included only where return travel to the set is not feasible within a day.
– Exclusive, virtual meet and greet: BBC Children in Need will host a virtual call between the winner and some of the Doctor Who via Zoom on a date to be agreed by BBC Children in Need and the winner, subject to the cast’s availability.

10. The winner will be selected using an independent randomised draw system and contacted on 24th November 2020 by BBC Children in Need by telephone. If the winner does not respond in order to claim the prize within five working days (being Monday to Friday), BBC Children in Need reserves the right to contact the next eligible winner (and in this case the original winner forfeits their claim to the prize), and so on until a winner is found.

11. The prize is as stated (subject to paragraph 15 below). There is no cash alternative and the elements of the prize cannot be sold or transferred by the winner in any circumstances.
