Non Uniform Day

Holding a non-uniform day is a really easy way to get the whole school involved in fundraising.

Ask students to pay £1 to come to school dressed as they like for the day. Keep it simple or pick a theme, anything goes!

If there are 400 students in your school, that’s £400 raised that can help change the lives of children in the UK who are facing difficulties – just by a change of clothes!

What you need to do

Step 1

Get permission from your teachers

Get support from your teachers and make sure your teachers are happy with your plans for a non-uniform day.

We’ve created a ‘letter to school leaders’ for you, that you can edit with the details of your proposed event.

If you’re going with a theme, you could even ask the teachers to get involved too!

Coming soon.

Step 2

Promote your event

Once you’ve had the go ahead from your teachers, start spreading the word about the event in school. The more students that participate, the more money raised and more lives changed.

Download and print the event posters and stick them in the canteen, corridors and noticeboards!

Ask your teachers to mention it in assembly too!

Step 3

Ask everyone to pay £1 to join in

Make sure everyone knows to pay a £1 to participate on the day.

You can use a collection box for a classroom collection to round up the funds. Or you can set up a JustGiving page for your school to collect donations cashlessly.

If your school uses ParentPay, the school can collect donations that way too. Your school reception has all the details, so get in touch with them if you want to collect donations this way.

Step 4

Put the totaliser up and let everyone know how much you raised!

After you’ve had your non-uniform day and collected all the money, make sure you stick up the totaliser poster (from our fundraising packs) to thank everyone involved and to show them the total amount the school collectively raised.

It’s really important that everyone knows that by getting together, they have made an incredible difference to the lives of children in the UK who need our help the most.
